'No comment', says Sabah Shahelmey on alleged bribery scandal

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya has declined to comment on the latest leaked video of assemblymen allegedly discussing bribes.

Malaysiakini has released the fourth video, which featured Shahelmey, who serves as the state's works minister.

When the video was released, Shahelmey and other state cabinet members were at the state assembly legislative building here for the tabling of 2025 Budget which started at 3pm.

When asked when the recording took place, Shahelmey, who is also Tanjung Keramat assemblyman and Putatan member of parliament, said the video had the time stamp from January 2024.

"But for now, 'no comment', as I have yet to watch the entire video as the sitting had just finished.

"We will issue a statement (after discussing with Sabah Chief Minister)," he said when met at the state legislative assembly building.

Shahelmey, who is also Tanjung Keramat assemblyman and Putatan member of parliament, is the fourth Sabah assemblyman implicated in the alleged bribery video disclosed by a businessman.

Previously, the online portal also published similar videos of assemblymen from Sindumin, Kemabong and Tempasuk.
