KUALA LUMPUR: Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said he will donate one month of his salary to the welfare fund for his ministry's staff to show his appreciation for their hard work.
During his ministry's winding up session for the 2025 Budget today, Nga expressed appreciation for his ministry's staff, whose efforts earned the ministry the top position in the National Development Award.
"I would like to take this opportunity to extend special appreciation to all ministry staff for their efforts in helping us win the National Development Award.
"We also secured first place among the top performing ministries this year.
"As a token of appreciation, I announce that I will contribute one month of my minister salary to the staff welfare fund."
The ministry won the National Development Award on Nov 12.
The award recognises the ministry's excellence in implementing the Industrialised Building System, project management and outcome evaluations.
