KUALA LUMPUR: A woman suffered for nearly a year after undergoing a breast filler procedure at an unregistered aesthetic clinic to enlarge her breasts.
The victim, identified as Lin, was forced to spend thousands of ringgit, including traveling to Thailand for treatment, before part of her breast had to be surgically removed, according to Kosmo.
Lin, in her 40s, said the ordeal began when she sought treatment at a clinic promoting the "breast filler" procedure on social media.
She started cosmetic treatments in 2016 and continued with additional procedures in the following years, all in an attempt to look sexier and more attractive.
"Anyone who undergoes this procedure becomes addicted," Lin said. "It starts with facial injections, and after seeing the results, you end up getting injections in other parts of your body."
In 2021, Lin developed pus and blood from an infection in her breast, prompting her to seek treatment at another clinic for a follow-up procedure.
She endured pain and lumps in her breast for a year before travelling to Bangkok for hospital care.
However, three hospitals turned her away, saying her breasts had been injected with silicone rather than fillers.
Lin then returned to Malaysia, where a hospital removed part of her breast. The procedure cost her RM35,000.
She expressed regret, noting that the clinic where she received the procedure is still operating and continues to promote its treatments widely.
