PUTRAJAYA: Mosques under the purview of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), namely the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Putra Mosque, and Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya, will hold Solat Hajat (prayer of need) after Friday prayers tomorrow, praying for safety and well-being in light of the ongoing flood disaster.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said that mosques and surau in the Federal Territories, under the purview of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), have also been asked to hold Solat Hajat at the same time.

He called on those affected by the floods to remain vigilant and comply with the directives issued by the authorities.

"May all victims be granted the strength to endure the trials they are currently facing," he said in a statement today.

He also expressed his gratitude to the frontline personnel, especially the Royal Malaysia Police, the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, and all agencies working tirelessly to assist the flood victims.-- BERNAMA
