Four outbound flights cancelled due to flooding at Sultan Abdul Halim airport

ALOR STAR: At least four outbound flights from Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR) this evening have been cancelled after its runway was closed due to flooding.

It is understood that two of the flights were to Kuala Lumpur and one each to Subang and Johor Baru, due to depart between 7pm and 11pm tonight.

Earlier today, Malaysia Airports issued a travel advisory on the runway's temporary closure following the issuance of a civil aviation authority notice (Notam).

"Due to rising floodwaters, a Notam has been issued, and the runway is temporarily closed. The airport terminal remains open.

"All passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight information for travels to and from AOR," it said.
