KUALA LUMPUR: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry must take firm action against foreign car owners purchasing RON95 fuel in Johor.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said foreigners who violated the law by purchasing subsidised fuel had put locals at a disadvantage.
"This is among the issues that the people have often brought up, and this violation definitely puts the locals at a disadvantage," he was quoted as saying by The Straits Times today.
He also urged the ministry to ensure that subsidised cooking oil packs intended for the B40 low-income group did not fall into the hands of foreigners.
It was reported that Onn Hafiz made these remarks when citing some of the complaints that Johoreans had made, especially through social media.
He added that there were still many issues to address, and they needed to be resolved collectively.
