ALOR STAR: The water supply to 153,537 accounts in Kedah affected by the temporary suspension of water treatment plants (WTPs) due to the floods is almost fully restored.
State-owned water concessionaire, Syarikat Air Darul Aman Sdn Bhd (Sada) said as of yesterday evening, water supply has been restored to 149,162 or 97 per cent of the affected accounts.
According to an update on its official Facebook page, all eight main WTPs are back to their full operation capacity.
They are the Sungai Limau WTP, Lubuk Merbau WTP, Jeneri WTP, Jeniang Baru WTP, Jeneri WTP, Bukit Pinang WTP, Jeniang Lama WTP, Nami WTP and Teloi Kanan WTP.
On Friday, Sada announced that it was forced to temporarily suspend the operation of its WTPs due to the floods on Thursday.
The move has led to unscheduled water supply disruptions in the Padang Terap, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, and Baling districts.
