KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has reminded civil servants to always provide the best service regardless of the individual's status in society.
He said that civil servants should perform their duties based on the values of M.A.L.A.Y.S.I.A, which stands for Mesra (Friendly), Adil (Fair), Luhur (Noble), Amanah (Trustworthy), Yakin (Confident), Setia (Loyal), Islah (Reformative), and Arif (Knowledgeable).
"It doesn't matter who he or she is, you serve them regardless of rank... Government of the day under my reform, you must treat everybody the same. Give the best service to all," he said when delivering a speech during a programme with the media here today.
Shamsul Azri also urged civil servants to be proud of their duties.
"You should be proud of your service, serving the government and the people of Malaysia. That should be the new reform," he said.
The event was also attended by Prime Minister's Department (PMD) Deputy Secretary-General (Finance and Development) Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, PMD Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Dr Khairus Masnan Abdul Khalid, and PMD Senior Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Shukor Mahmood.
