PASIR MAS: Kelantan police have suffered losses of about RM1.55 million due to the first round of floods, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
He said the losses included damage to police assets such as stations and posts.
"The figure is not finalised yet and we will get the exact figure once the flood ends.
"So far, l was informed that about RM1.55 million losses were suffered by Kelantan police alone.
"I have yet to receive the amount of losses suffered by police and other agencies under the Home Ministry in other states that were hit by floods," he said after visiting the Flood Disaster Control Centre in Repek today.
Also present were Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat and Pasir Mas police chief Assistant Commissioner Kama Azural Mohamed.
Shamsul Anuar said although the police'a assets were badly hit by the floods, it would not effect their operations.
"The operations carried out by the police and other rescue agencies during this flood season continue as usual," he said.
On another note, he said all the three Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complexes in Kelantan resumed operations recently.
He said the three were in Pengkalan Kubor, Bukit Bunga and Rantau Panjang.
"I was told that the three complexes did not operate during the early stage of flooding for a few days but now, they have resumed their operations after the floodwaters receded," he added.
