TUMPAT: The Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra, visited flood victims at the SK Bunohan temporary relief centre (PPS) here today.
Accompanying Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra were Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat and Pengkalan Kubor state assemblyman Datuk Wan Roslan Wan Hamat.
During the visit, Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra presented food baskets to 170 heads of households to ease the burden of flood victims.
Meanwhile, victim Atirah Che Ayob, 26, said that the presence of Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra and the contributions will somewhat ease the burden of her family members, who have been staying at the relief centre for almost two weeks.
"My family and I had to move to the relief centre on Nov 28 when our house in Kampung Atas Kok Simpangan was flooded up to one metre high," she said.
Atirah claimed to have suffered thousands of ringgit in losses due to the damage to three cars and other household items due to the floods this time.
"The sudden deluge has taught me to be more prepared and to act quickly to save myself and our belongings in the event of a second wave of floods," she said.
