[UPDATED] Ex-Harian Metro journalist's teen daughter dies in crash

JOHOR BARU: The teenage daughter of former Harian Metro journalist, Ibrahim Isa, died in a road accident yesterday.

The accident is believed to have occurred when Nur Adriana Ibrahim, 18, lost control of her motorcycle, which skidded and crashed into the road barriers.

Ibrahim and his wife, Nazaliza Jali, both 48, have yet to receive a full report of what happened, but Nazaliza said a passer-by who witnessed the accident came to their home in Bandar Baru Uda and informed them that Adriana had been involved in the crash at 2pm. She was taken to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

"Minutes later, two police officers arrived at our house and told us that Adriana had been killed. She is believed to have died at the scene," Nazaliza added.

Recounting their final interaction, the mother of four said her eldest daughter hugged her before leaving for work yesterday. There was nothing peculiar or unusual that day.

"However, as I watched her leave, I felt something different and went to hug and kiss her several more times," she said tearfully.

Adriana worked at Plaza Angsana full-time while also taking on a part-time job at a satay restaurant in Tampoi. She was reportedly on her way to meet a friend to deliver food when the accident happened.

"She was generous, hardworking, and always looked out for her siblings. She bought the motorcycle with her earnings just two months ago and cherished it," Nazaliza said.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim said Adriana had wanted to further her studies after gaining work experience.

"She didn't want to rest after finishing secondary school. She wanted to work and save for her future education, but her dreams have been cut short," he said.
