Anwar confirms Petronas-Petros talks on oil and gas distribution issues concluded [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Discussions on the distribution issue involving Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros) and Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) have concluded, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar added that he had met with Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg to address the matter.

"The discussions are settled, but we're now working on the details, including the parameters and legal implications," he told reporters after launching the National AI Office today.

Anwar, however, did not elaborate on when the announcement of the resolution would be made.

Yesterday, Abang Johari said the prime minister would announce a resolution for the gas distribution issue involving Petros and Petronas.

The state government had previously decided that Petros would assume control over the buying and selling of gas in Sarawak from July 1.

Petronas requested a delay, citing potential disruptions to gas distribution for LNG plants in Bintulu.

The government then agreed to a three-month extension.
