KUALA LUMPUR: The recent World Youth Achievement Records recognised outstanding accomplishments in business, showcasing the success of young entrepreneurs excelling across diverse fields.
Founded by Gillian Ooi and Eldrick Koh, the records honour the exceptional achievements of individuals under the age of 40.
The records are endorsed by the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Four young entrepreneurs were honoured with the World Youth Achievement Records at this year's ceremony.
Among them was Datuk Raymond Ho who was recognised for being the first Malaysian chief executive officer to achieve over RM1 billion in group revenue within 12 months.
In 2023, Raymond also operated seven 24-hour premium wholesale retail outlets.
As the executive director of Sri Ternak Group, his business ventures span retail, agriculture, food processing, and maritime sectors, setting benchmarks in Malaysia's retail industry.
The second recipient, Dr Daniel Choong was honoured with this record for successfully integrating mobile technology into Feng Shui consulting.
His innovations, which have served over 111 businesses across Malaysia, China, and Singapore since 2023, led to the development of the Eastern Zi Wei app.
This application combines traditional Feng Shui practices with data-driven modern technologies, providing clients with objective decision-making tools.
The third recipient, Dr Jest Wong was recognised for his groundbreaking work in mental health services.
As the founder of the Umbrella Project, he introduced voice analysis services that have supported 511,290 users between January 2023 and November.
By applying AI technology, he has innovated voice analysis and intervention techniques, addressing significant gaps in regional mental health support.
The final recipient, Steve Looi was celebrated for designing and constructing a 153.175-metre column-free prefabricated steel structure featuring vertical light panels.
Looi's innovative design has set new standards in structural engineering, blending advanced technology with sustainable development principles.
Another highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Inhome Dining, which earned an Asean Record for achieving the highest total sales of treasure pots (poon choi) on a single online platform in Malaysia.
Founded by celebrity chef Khiew Kok Chin and his wife, the company sold 23,984 treasure pots between January last year and November this year.
"We started selling treasure pots online in 2020 with just over 1,000 units sold. Breaking this record today and receiving this honour validates all our hard work," Khiew said.
He expressed hopes to introduce Malaysian treasure pots to the international market, allowing more people to savour this traditional delicacy.
Following the records ceremony, a forum was held which provided an opportunity for the entrepreneurs and record holders to share their entrepreneurial journeys, to inspire the audiences to pursue their dreams and forge their paths.
