Zahid: Respect court's decision to acquit Rosmah

BENTONG: Everyone should respect the verdict delivered by the High Court today to acquit Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor — the wife of jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak — of 17 money laundering and tax evasion charges.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said all quarters should refrain from questioning the court's decision as a verdict has been delivered on the matter.

"I am grateful that Rosmah has been freed over her money laundering and tax evasion charges.

"When (one is) acquitted, we must respect the judicial system, which was in favour of Rosmah.

"I hope no quarters will attempt to question the court's verdict," he told reporters at Agropolitan Chemomoi in Pelangai near here today.

Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister and rural and regional development minister, had earlier opened the newly built Agropolitan Chemomoi latex collection here.

Earlier today, Rosmah was acquitted of all RM7 million money laundering and tax evasion charges.

She was initially charged in the Sessions Court on Oct 4, 2018, before the case was transferred to the High Court.
