KUALA LUMPUR: AmanahRaya Bhd has launched a Year-End Sale (YES) promotion for legacy planning, offering discounts of up to 20 per cent on Will writing until the end of the year.
The sale is valid until Dec 31 and offers discounts on Basic Will writing, which is available for RM400 compared with RM500. The Comprehensive Will writing that costs RM1,200 is now offered at RM1,000 until year-end.
AmanahRaya Group managing director Ahmad Feizal Sulaiman Khan said the company also offered a combo promotion, where two basic wills would cost even less at RM700 for two people. For the comprehensive combo, it is only RM1,800 for two will writers.
"However, these unbeatable combo promotion prices are only available for those who visit AmanahRaya counters in person.
"Muslims can plan their inheritance through Hibahku promotion during this YES promotion and receive an RM200 discount from the original price of RM1,500," he said, adding that only five per cent of Malaysians had wills.
This percentage is below the 20 per cent benchmark set for developed nations.
Feizal said the promotion was part of an initiative to raise awareness about legacy planning andencourage more Malaysians to prepare their wills.
"Estate planning is important to ensure that people's assets and wealth are managed and distributed according to their wishes after their passing.
"It also gives them a peace of mind knowing that their financial and property matters are taken care of, and their loved ones will be supported by their wishes.
"It also gives the will writer control over asset distribution rather than being determined by laws of inheritance."
Feizal told the New Straits Times this after launching the Bank Muamalat and AmanahRaya I-visa Platinum credit card here last week.
Moreover, he said, without estate planning, assets may go through a lengthy process.
Estate planning, through mechanisms like trusts or wills, minimises the complexity and duration of this process, ensuring a faster and smoother transfer of assets to the intended beneficiaries.
"It is also syariah-compliant for Muslims," Feizal said, adding that AmanahRaya estate planning provided legal, financial and emotional security for the individuals and their beneficiaries.
He said AmanahRaya launched a new mobile app in August that made will writing more accessible and convenient.
"We launched this app to make the process simpler, where one only has to scan the Quick Response (QR) code using the 'My AmanahRaya' app and fill up a form to have our agent come to you.
"The will writer only has to state their preferred dates and time for a house visit to go ahead with the estate planning process from the comfort of their homes."
Feizal said users could book appointments, review, validate and seek free advice on will writing services.
"Our services go beyond financial needs, helping customers plan their wealth distribution early and effectively.
"Our will writing services ensure equitable distribution based on the principles of social justice underscored by the Malaysia Madani concept."
