KUALA LUMPUR: The husband of the late pathologist Dr Tay Tien Yaa is seeking further clarification from the independent special committee regarding the findings of the investigation into the cause of her death.
Low Teck Khaang told Berita Harian that the investigation findings merely presented a conclusion without any discussion with the family members.
"We were not given much time for that (discussion). We also have not seen the report and hope the ministry will release it so that we can examine it in more detail.
"What was explained to us did not adequately address our doubts, and what was conveyed differs from what my wife had told me," he said.
On Jan 22, it was reported that Dr Tay's death last August was not due to bullying or mistreatment.
In a press conference, Independent Special Committee chairman Tan Sri Borhan Dollah said their investigation did not find that the victim had performed tasks outside the scope of her job.
Low also said the committee focused more on official documents while disregarding other evidence.
"The investigation may not have been thorough enough. We were also unaware that a press conference was held with the intention of closing the case after the briefing," he said.
