KUALA LUMPUR: A food video blogger (vlogger) gained a lot of attention online for sampling a limited edition gourmet coffee, which was priced at more than RM1,200.
Tik Tok user @walaofoodie, who has more than 99,000 followers on social media, went to the new coffee outlet in Suria KLCC to try the "Paraiso Gold Coffee" recently.
She was initially not impressed after her first sip and admitted it tasted "like other coffee".
However, after some time, she said as person who likes to eat pastry, she liked the taste.
Earlier, she looked through the menu at the coffee outlet and showed her viewers the price of "Paraiso Gold Coffee" which was RM1,216.
She asked the waiter about the coffee, and he explained it was made from a special bean grown in South America.
"It's one of the rarest coffees in the world, and it's not easy for the tree to grow. The beans are also limited," said the waiter.
He graciously offered the vlogger a glimpse of the Paraiso Gold Coffee beans, highlighting that the beans possessed a flavour profile reminiscent of exquisite wine.
Most people online felt the coffee was too expensive and they would rather spend such a big amount of money on useful things.
User @XXL said: "Only dumb people will go there for the coffee."
Another user @limgeorge66 mention: "Only for the rich."
Tik tok user @sasimenon220 said: "The price seems outrageous, and in my opinion, it's a bit foolish to spend so much on coffee."
"Wow, a wealthy lady enjoying gold coffee while I could use that money for my house rent and bills," said @user723301334096 .
