KUALA LUMPUR: A young football enthusiast's emotional reaction upon receiving a birthday gift prompted netizens to get him more gear to help with his passion.
A video posted by @kaklawani on her TikTok showed the woman's son in tears when he opened a gift-wrapped box with a football in it.
He immediately hugged his father expressing his gratitude for buying an expensive gift for his birthday.
"Your father worked very hard to buy you this gift," said @kaklawani in the video.
The video caption read: "He is very happy today. He kept saying this is an expensive ball."
"He is so happy today. Thank you, son, for helping mama and baba so much. I'm sorry for all the mistakes I've made with you. But my prayers are always with you. Mama doesn't ask much from you, just to be a child strong in your faith," wrote @kaklawani.
Netizens, who were equally touched by the boy's reaction offered to give more gifts to encourage his interest in football.
Two social media users offered to give him a pair of boots.
"Sis, I have size seven shoes that I don't use. They're still in good condition and rarely worn. If possible, I want to give them to him. Playing soccer with new shoes is the best," commented Far.
Another social media user offered to get him a jersey.
"It's sad to see him cry. If he wants a jersey, my younger sibling sells them. I'll give it to him for free. Just let me know the size and which team or state he wants," said one person.
Many people also wished the boy well in pursuit of his dreams.
"Happy birthday, brother. I swear, I cried watching this video. I hope you become a soccer player who makes your parents proud in the future. I'm praying for you, brother," said @puteribongsu.
