KUALA LUMPUR: A unique friendship between a boy and a worker of a mamak restaurant has warmed the hearts of netizens.
In a TikTok video by @moonlightflower7_, a boy, named Luth was seen elated after being reunited with a worker of a mamak restaurant after the latter moved to another branch of the establishment.
"It's been quite a while since I've seen you. I heard you asked about me every day. How are you?" said the restaurant worker to the little boy.
"This is a story of Luth and 'Uncle Mamak', they have known each other for almost four years," read the video caption.
The video also explained that Luth had requested to go to the restaurant almost every day so he could meet 'Uncle Mamak'.
"However, when his 'uncle' moved to another branch, he went searching for him.
"So today, as a surprise, we brought him to the branch 'Uncle Mamak' is working."
The video, which has been viewed more than 350,000 times saw the reaction of netizens, touched by the friendship between the two.
@itsaufie commented that he also used to share the same connection with one of the workers of a mamak restaurant.
"Same, back then there was this uncle at this restaurant, but he moved to another branch in Kuala Lumpur. He was willing to ask for my father's Facebook because he wanted to keep in touch."
One user also said that she also knew the worker, saying that he has always been nice to children.
"I know this mamak. Very friendly with the children at the old place. Perhaps he misses his children (back in his home country). I shall bring my children to visit him there," @SashG said.
