Mukhriz denies daughters' luxurious lifestyles funded through illicit wealth

ALOR STAR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir today brushed off reports that the luxurious lifestyles of his daughters Meera Alyanna and Melia Serena were funded by illicit wealth.

Mukhriz said he is contemplating to take legal action against media organisations trying to paint a negative image of him and accusing his family of living lavishly through ill-gotten gains.

"I think it (the report) should not have happened because it is against journalism ethics.

"Furthermore the report alleged that my family wealth was amassed by robbing from the country and the people," he told a press conference on the sidelines of the state legislative assembly here today.

Describing the allegation as a serious slander against him, Mukhriz said he would consult his lawyer on the possibility of taking a legal action against the parties concerned.

Malay publications today reported Mukhriz's daughters' purported lavish living including owning a luxury boat named as Puteri Alyanna, which have gone viral on social media.

The pictures, shared by Facebook page 'Sudahlah Mahathir' were said to have been shared from Mukhriz's daughters Instagram account.
