KUALA LUMPUR: The stage is set for a three-way fight between Barisan Nasional, PKR and Pas in the urban hot seat of Lembah Pantai.
Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin will take on PKR’s Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil and Pas’ Fauzi Abu Bakar in the 14th General Election (GE14).
The candidates were announced by Lembah Pantai P121 Election Commission officer, Ab Salim Mansor, who handled the nomination process, held at the Dewan Komuniti Bukit Bandaraya today.
“After examining all nomination forms from the candidates, the EC is pleased to announced that the set will involve a contest between representatives from BN, PKR and Pas,” he said.
Raja Nong Chik, who is also former Federal Territories and Urban Well-Being Minister, arrived at 9am accompanied by his proposer Lai Kong Fah and supporter Datuk R Narayanan to submit his forms.
Ahmad Fahmi arrived at 9.02am accompanied by proposer Zainal Ariffin Osman and supporter, Sheik Johari Bux Sheik Yaacob Bux.
Fauzi meanwhile, arrived at 9.03am with proposer Ahmad Sathola Khan and supporter Abdul Rahman Bakri.
The Lembah Pantai seat has 80,311 registered voters, with 10,250 of them early voters.
In the 13th General Election, PKR, represented by Nurul Izzah Anwar won the seat by defeating Raja Nong Chik with a 1,847-vote majority.
