KUALA LUMPUR: Umno advisory board chairman Tengku Razaleigh Tengku Mohd Hamzah today claimed the ruling Perikatan Nasional government is not a legitimate governmnent.
The Umno veteran also claimed that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is not a legitimate prime minister.
"I am here today sharing the platform with (former prime minister) Tun (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) purely because I want to make sure we have a legitimate government.
"The government we have today is not a legitimate government.
"The prime minister who is in office today is not a legitimate prime minister," athe Gua Musang member of Parliament said during a joint press conference with Dr Mahathir here today.
He was asked to comment if he was now working with the opposition against the PN government that also comprised of Umno.
Pressed further if he was prepared to face disciplinary action by Umno, Tengku Razaleigh replied: "What disciplinary action?
"Everybody can support whoever they want to support."
