KUCHING: Early polling for the Sarawak state election started this morning, with 85 polling stations and 111 streams opened for 10,548 early voters.
The early voting centres opened at 7.30am.
Apart from the hall at the Sarawak police headquarters in Jalan Badruddin here and district police headquarters around the state, other premises such as buildings belonging to the Police Family Association (Perkep) were turned into polling centres.
The early voting today would involve members of the security forces, comprising the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and General Operations Force (PGA) as well as their spouses.
Voting for three state seats - Tupong, Samariang, and Satok - was being held at the Sarawak police headquarters here.
A total 872 police personnel would be casting their votes in four streams at this centre.
