Abang Jo wins Gedong; GPS victorious in eight state seats

KUCHING: Sarawak caretaker Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg won the Gedong state seat with a majority of 3,607.

Abang Johari, who moved from the Satok state seat to Gedong, polled 4,310 votes.

His three challengers - Mohamad Sofian Fariz Sharbini from Parti Sarawak Bersatu polled 703 votes, Tomson Ango from Parti Bumi Kenyalang got 157 votes and Kamal Bujang from Parti Amanah Negara managed 94 votes.

As of 7.30pm, GPS has won eight state seats.
