GTA gives 2023 Budget its full support

KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) today announced its full support for the 2023 Budget, which was tabled by Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

Its chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said GTA would implement all the programmes and initiatives proposed under the budget, in the event that the coalition became the next federal government after the 15th General Election (GE15).

The former prime minister also said GTA would not reduce all the programmes and initiatives when implemented the 2023 Budget in the event that coalition for the next federal administration.

"Under the budget, the government is providing assistance by to people in all segments of the community.

"From my opinion, the budget is appealing and GTA aspires to implement a similar budget. Perhaps, we will look into ways to improve the budget.

"If GTA win (the GE15), we will implement all (programmes and initiatives) outlined in the budget. We will not reduce (all the programmes) which have been proposed in the budget that was tabled by Tengku Zafrul (in Dewan Rakyat on Friday)," the Langkawi member of Parliament said in a short clip that was shared on his Facebook account today.

Driven by three R's namely responsive, responsible and reformist, a total of RM372.3 billion was proposed under the 2023 Budget.
