KUALA LUMPUR: All candidates of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties contesting in the 15th General Election (GE15) will use the coalition's "dacing" symbol.
BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the decision is also applicable to all affiliated parties and candidates who are direct members of the coalition.
The matter, he said, was among several decisions made during the BN election committee meeting which was chaired by coalition chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Thursday.
"The symbol is a brand that is close to the heart of the people," Zambry said in a statement.
The meeting was also informed that BN would use the "Prosperity and Stability" theme as the core of the campaign by the coalition throughout the campaigning period for GE15.
Umno, which is the backbone of BN, alongside MCA, MIC and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), also accepted the commitment from Makkal Sakti, Malaysian Indian Progressive Front (IPF), Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma), Malaysian United Indian Party (MUIP), Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) and Parti Punjabi Malaysia (PPM) to collectively activate their machineries to ensure the victory of BN candidates in the polls.
