KUALA LUMPUR: MIC will stick with Barisan Nasional (BN) in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
Its president Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran said the party was satisfied with the seats offered by Barisan Nasional to the party as well as seats given to them in the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said the party also welcomed the coalition's decision to field four candidates from parties under the "Friends of BN" banner in GE15.
Vigneswaran's announcement quashed rumous that MIC may sit out the coming elections due to internal clashes with Umno.
The speculations began gaining traction after the party's candidates skipped the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate line-up announcement at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur last night.
MIC candidates named by BN for GE15 include:
Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran - Sungai Siput
Datuk Seri M. Saravanan - Tapah
Datuk T. Mohan - Hulu Selangor
Datuk T. Murugiah - Teluk Intan
Datuk A Kohilan Pillay - Batu
Datuk Mohana Muniandy - Kuala Langat
Tan Sri M. Ramasamy - Segamat
Datuk P. Kamalanathan - Port Dickson
Datuk C. Sivarraajh - Padang Serai
Kajendran Doraisamy - Kota Raja
Additionally, BN has also offered three parliamentary seats to Indian candidates under the "Friends of BN" banner. They include:
Datuk Seri R.S. Thanenthiran (Makkal Sakti) - Nibong Tebal
Loganathan Thoraisamy (Indian Progressive Front) - Jelutong
Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Kader (Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress) - Puchong
Meanwhile, Vigneswaran also confirmed that MIC will contest the Sabai seat in the upcoming Pahang state elections.
