KUALA LUMPUR: DAP accepts that this country needs to be led by a Malay prime minister, party secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook said.
However, he said the candidate must be an authoritative figure who is clean, honest, and possesses high intellectual.
He urged the people to use the 15th general election (GE15) as an opportunity to get rid of racial politics in order to change the country's political landscape.
"I told my Malay friends, we in DAP accept and respect that the Malaysian leadership, the prime minister, must be Malay.
"But, we want a Malay candidate who is authoritative, clean, honest, and intellectual, such as (Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim so that Malaysia is respected.
"Enough is enough. Say no to racial politics. We will use GE15 to bring Pakatan Harapan government to power under Anwar's leadership.
"You can see for yourself and compare who has more intellectual and stamina… is it Anwar, (Datuk Seri) Ismail Sabri Yaakob or (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin Yassin," he said while speaking at the Grand Finale of the PH Mega Tour in Keramat, last night.
