KUALA LUMPUR: Senator Datuk C. Sivarraajh plans to contest in MIC's party election next year despite his removal from its central working committee (CWC).
Confirming his sacking from the CWC, the former MIC vice-president said the party had not given him any reason behind the move.
"He (MIC president Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran) sacked me without a reason.
"But it is his prerogative to remove and appoint a CWC (member). Let us wish MIC and him the best," he said when contacted.
Sivarraajh said he would focus on his work as a senator but planned to contest in the party's election next year.
"For now as a senator, I will do my work for the community and focus on 3E - Education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment."
The New Straits Times tried reaching out to Vigneswaran and MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan for further comments but to no avail.
However, a news media reported that Vigneswaran had said the removal was a normal process under the party constitution.
It was also reported that a MIC source claimed that Sivarraajh was allegedly stripped as a CWC member after he failed to attend the "Madani Government: Educational Development and Future of Indians" programme
in Shah Alam on Saturday, which was officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
