Unofficial: PN wins Sungai Burong

SHAH ALAM: Perikatan Nasional (PN) has won the Sungai Burong state seat in Selangor based on unofficial results.

Its candidate, Mohd Zamri Mohd Zainuldin obtained 15,447 votes against Barisan Nasional's Mohamad Khir Ramli who received 8,605 votes. This means that Zamri won with a 6,842-vote majority so far.

The Sungai Burong constituency saw a straight fight between Khir, 53, who is Tanjong Karang Umno division vice-chairman and Zamri, 44, from Pas, who had also contested in the same seat in 2018 but lost.

The seat was previously held by BN-Umno's Datuk Mohd Samsudin Lias who retired from politics.
