KUALA KUBU BHARU: Newly-elected Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman Pang Sock Tao, who won the by-election on Saturday, aims to find a house to live in the constituency as soon as possible.
She said this is one of the primary steps she is taking to help her with her focus on serving constituents.
"My first plan is to find a home as soon as possible and initiate the service centre's operations, as well as coordinate with the existing team to address the people's issues.
"Thanks to the voters of Kuala Kubu Baharu who fulfilled their duty to vote. I will continue to work and strive to resolve local issues," she told reporters after distributing flowers in conjunction with Mother's Day and expressing appreciation to voters.
Pang, 31, accompanied by her husband, Yap Bing Yew, 32, arrived at the market here at 9am and received a warm welcome from the public.
She said she will utilise the late assemblyman Lee Kee Hiong's service centre and will commence operations starting Tuesday.
"I will prioritise local issues like street lights and drainage, which affect the residents, and I will work with the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council to address this.
"For the long term, as stated in my manifesto, I will strive to improve Internet speed and coverage and upgrade the transportation system by introducing tourist buses on weekends."
PH retained the Kuala Kubu Baharu State state seat when Pang won with a 3,869-vote majority after defeating three other candidates in the by-election.
Pang beat Bersatu candidate, Khairul Azhari Saut representing the Perikatan Nasional (PN), Hafizah Zainuddin from the Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) and independent candidate, Nyau Ke Xin.
