KOTA BARU: Former Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azizi Abu Naim said he would be filing an affidavit challenging yesterday's decision in court on Sunday.
He said he had an extensive discussion with his lawyer today.
"I am sorry that I could not answer the many calls as I was having a discussion with my lawyer. Our discussion began in the morning and ended around 6.40pm," he said.
During the meeting, they agreed to file an affidavit to challenge the Kelantan State Assembly's decision about the vacancy of the Nenggiri state seat.
"We plan to file it on Sunday," he confirmed when contacted.
Azizi added that his lawyers and him were currently gathering information for the affidavit.
"I cannot give further statements on the issue and hope members of the media will understand," he said.
Yesterday, Kelantan Assembly speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah declared the Nenggiri state seat vacant, paving the way for a potential by-election in Kelantan.
Mohd Amar said that the seat was declared vacant effective immediately following a notification of Azizi's termination received on June 13.
