Tuan Ibrahim accuses Azizi of using allocation issue to support Anwar

GUA MUSANG: Former Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Aziz Abu Naim's support for the unity government was unrelated to the issue of allocations for opposition elected representatives, said Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

He said all assemblymen in Kelantan receive their allocations.

"He (Mohd Azizi) is merely linking the allocation issue to support the unity government, but it is not actually about the allocation.

"The main issue is that he is greedy because all assemblymen in Kelantan have allocations.

"This is what caused the by-election. In the last state election, the voters chose him, but he 'turned his back' and supported someone else," Tuan Ibrahim said while launching the election machinery at the Perasu voting district unit, here, last night.

The by-election is being held after Azizi, who contested under the Pas-Bersatu ticket, had his Bersatu membership stripped after declaring support for the unity government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In Dec 13 last year, Azizi had said his support for the unity government is aimed at, among other things, to assist the people in the constituency in accessing the aid provided by the Federal Government.

Aziz, who had declared his support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's leadership on Nov 7 last year, had said that he needed to collaborate with federal government agencies to help the public understand the assistance available, such as from the South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar) and the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda).

Meanwhile, Tuan Ibrahim, who is also Kubang Kerian member of parliament, also challenged DAP to campaign in Nenggiri.

"DAP should not be afraid to show their true colours in Nenggiri. Don't think that just because they do not come down to campaign, they are not present. They are still there.

"It's just that DAP is not allowed to come to Nenggiri because Umno might lose their deposit since the Malays here cannot accept DAP," he said.

On a separate issue, Tuan Ibrahim said Bersatu will also contest the Mahkota state seat in Johor in the upcoming by-election following the death of Mahkota assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain.
