KUALA LUMPUR: The federal capital’s march to become one of the top 20 global cities by 2020 was given a boost, with the unveiling of the proposed Pavilion Damansara Heights integrated development project, here, today.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the project would elevate Kuala Lumpur as among one of the top liveable cities in the world.
“In 2016, Kuala Lumpur was ranked amongst the Top 10 most visited cities in the World by Euromonitor and one of the best cities in Southeast Asia in Mercer’s Quality of Living survey.
“I strongly believe Pavilion Damansara Heights is a massive step forward towards positioning Kuala Lumpur among the top 20 cities in the world by 2020,”
“This new development will help strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s position as the premier destination for both local and international tourists. While residents will benefit from significant increase in their property value,” he said.
He also noted that the ministry’s hope in developing a liveable city cannot be achieved without the support of developers to ensure sustainable guidelines are upheld.
The project is a collaboration between Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and the Pavilion Group.
Pavilion Group Sales and Marketing director Datuk Tracey Lai said the development has been well received with registration for its units touching 90 per cent.
She said Pavilion Damansara Heights is slated to be an upscale integrated development spanning 16 acres of 10 corporate towers, five residential towers and a retail mall.
The development is expected to be completed in stages by 2022.
Also present at the event was Pavilion Group deputy chairman Puan Seri Cindy Lim, CPPIB Real Estate Investments Asia director Gilles Chow and Impian Ekspresi Sdn Bhd Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Ismail.
