KUALA LUMPUR: Poly Ritz Group of Companies succeeded in selling 90 percent of its 1,120-unit Federal Territories Affordable Housing (RUMAWIP) project since late last year.
The company’s group executive chairman Datuk Masrul Affendy Masram said that the take-up rate of the project - named Ritz Communities - was due to its competitive pricing of RM300 and strategic location in Salak South here.
He said each 3-bedroom apartment unit was priced at RM300,000 and was strategically located to a future MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) station in the Klang Valley.
He was speaking during a speech at a RUMAWIP buyers’ appreciation event here today.
The 49-storey, 2-block Ritz Communities apartment sits on a 3.23 acre (1.3ha) land in Salak South, which is 10-minutes away from the Mid Valley and 20 minutes from the city centre.
Each unit measures 800 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
He said that the 90 per cent take up rate shows an encouraging response from buyers.
“With the project started in Nov 19, 2017, we target to complete (construction) by the end of 2020,” he said.
When met at the sidelines of the event, Masrul said that the 90 per cent take up rate exceeded the company’s initial target of 60 per cent within a six-month period from November last year.
Meanwhile, the company’s group chief executive officer Wong Siew Woon said that the project had attracted over 3000 interested applicants through the RUMAWIP online portal.
“There is demand for affordable housing units prized below RM500,000 in the Klang Valley.
“This project fulfils the needs of those seeking to own affordable housing units in Salak South.
We believe in fulfilling our (social) responsibility via providing this project, with full facilities and security (among others),” he said.
When asked on whether the company are involved in other RUMAWIP housing projects, Wong said that a few such projects are in the pipeline.
He however said that further details would come in future announcements by the company.
RUMAWIP homes are targeted at both the low- and middle-income groups in the Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan).
