Club Med has opened a new flagship mountain resort in the French Alps called Club Med La Rosière, despite the current pandemic.
The resort, which opened in December 2020 is built on the concrete area of a former airfield, which had been closed for many years.
Club Med, which has over 20 ski resorts in the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps as well as China and Japan, made a commitment to the Municipality of Montvalezan to depollute and revegetate the lower part of the altiport in order to return nearly 4,000 m² to nature.
The authentic Savoyard ski resort is located in the heart of unspoiled nature with a wealth of natural and cultural heritage, just a few miles from the Italian border.
In a statement, Club Med said the resort offers an exceptional panoramic view over the Tarentaise valley and the Beaufortain massif.
This south-facing resort lies at an altitude of 1,950 m on the slopes overlooking the valley.
Built of wood and stone, the ski resort's architectural style blends in with its natural surroundings.
The resort's interior design is inspired by Savoyard tradition, with various cultural and geographical touches specific to the Montvalezan region.
The premium resort offers 395 spacious rooms, and a wealth of unique sports, wellness, cultural and culinary activities.
Club Med, founded in 1950, is the pioneer of the all-inclusive concept, offering about 70 premium resorts in more than 30 countries, including one in Malaysia.
