KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip, chairman of Rehda Institute, continues to be busy after retiring as chief executive officer of Sunway Real Estate Trust (REIT).
Ng retired on June 30 of this year, at the age of 66.
On the same day he retired from Sunway REIT, he was appointed as a director of Ayer Holdings Bhd.
According to a stock exchange filing on September 29, Ng has been appointed as non-executive independent director of Capitaland Malaysia Trust (CLMT) with effect from today (Oct 1).
CLMT's investment objective is to invest, on a long-term basis, in a geographically diversified portfolio of income-producing real estate assets across Malaysia that are used primarily for retail, commercial, office, and industrial purposes.
As of June 30, 2023, CLMT has a total asset value of about RM5 billion.
Ng is currently an adviser to the Malaysian REIT Managers Association and director of Urban Hallmark Properties Sdn Bhd.
A graduate with a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University in Melbourne, Ng was awarded "Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (REHDA) Personality of the Year 2015" for his contribution to the real estate industry.
He was also accorded "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Malaysia-Australia Business Council in 2003.
