Chong Wei hopes Jun Hao will end Malaysia's long wait

LEONG Jun Hao could just end the nation's long wait for a world junior champion if he heeds the advice of his idol Lee Chong Wei.

Chong Wei has asked the 18-year-old to focus on improving as a player having proven himself at the regional level after winning the Asian junior title in Jakarta on Sunday.

"This (Asian title) is a great start for Jun Hao," said Chong Wei, when contacted.

"I hope winning this will give him the confidence to do well in his upcoming tournaments".

Zulfadli Zulkifli was the last Malaysian to win the World Junior Championships singles crown in 2011.

Chong Wei, who will be heading to the World Championships in Glasgow on Aug 21-27, and Jun Hao will create history for Malaysia if they both win the senior and junior world titles in the same year.

The World Junior Championships will be held in Yogjakarta, Indonesia on Oct 9-22.
