KUALA LUMPUR: Yap Roy King and Wan Arif Junaidi continued to make significant progress in their partnership by capturing the Nantes International Challenge title for their breakthrough victory in France on Sunday.
Roy King-Arif, paired in March following the men's doubles reshuffle, beat Indonesia's Muh Putra Erwiansyah-Patra Harapan Rindorindo 21-16, 14-21, 21-12 in the final, which lasted 53 minutes.
The win capped a fruitful two-week stint in Europe for the world No 101 as they also did well last week by reaching the semi-finals of Denmark Masters in Hillerod.
Roy King-Arif are expected to move up to No 81 in the world rankings on Tuesday.
They are now the fifth-best ranked national pair behind Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, Beh Chun Meng-Goh Boon Zhe.
