KUALA LUMPUR: Mixed doubles Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai narrowly missed out on a fourth World Tour final after falling in the semi-finals of the Kumamoto Masters in Japan today.
The world No. 10 lost 18-21, 22-20, 21-14 to Thailand's new partnership, Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran, in a 64-minute clash at the Super 500 event.
It was the Malaysian's pair's first defeat in two meetings against Dechapol--Supissara.
Soon Huat-Shevon have enjoyed a strong season, claiming titles at the Super 300 Swiss Open and Super 500 Malaysia Masters, as well as finishing runners-up at the prestigious Super 1000 China Open.
