KUALA LUMPUR: BAM coaching director Rexy Mainaky said the sudden resignation of men's doubles coach Tan Bin Shen won't affect the national team.
Yesterday (Dec 20), BAM announced that Bin Shen, who has been with the national team since 2020, has resigned.
Bin Shen is credited with guiding men's pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik to two Olympic bronze medals and the World Championship title in 2022.
Rexy said he is currently on holiday, and has yet to think about Bin Shen's replacement.
The BAM coaching chief added that he was not worried about the national team's preparations with coaches Rosman Razak, Nova Widianto and others still at the Academy Badminton Malaysia.
"I will help the men's doubles (after Bin Shen's departure). We also have Rosman and Nova. We can help each other in the men's doubles department," said Rexy when contacted by Timesport.
Bin Shen will join Hong Kong BA as its new men's doubles coach.
