KUALA LUMPUR: Former international Indra Putra Mahayuddin, who has been appointed as Kuala Lumpur captain, wants to retire at the club.
The 37-year-old admitted that his career is coming to an end due to his advanced age.
“As a footballer, I hope to keep winning trophies. I believe I can go on for another two years as a player,” said Indra.
“If KL want me to stay on for the 2019 season then it will likely be my final year as a professional player.”
On KL, Indra believes the club have depth to match the bigger teams in the Super League.
“We have a good team with a mix of youngsters and seniors. We are like a family here,” Indra added.
KL earned promotion to the Super League after winning last season’s Premier League crown.
