KUALA LUMPUR: Is Liridon Krasniqi heading to Super League side Melaka?
The 27-year-old was first approached by Pahang after he was released by Kedah last season but the east coast side decided not to pursue the Kosovo Albanian after he was linked to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
However, rumours are now circulating that the midfielder might sign with Melaka after a photo of him and coach Zainal Abidin Hassan was posted on Instagram on Friday.
Melaka manager Datuk Yusoff Mahadi said his side are open towards signing Krasniqi.
“However, I am leaving it to Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) president Adly Zahari and the head coach to decide on Krasniqi.”
“Yes, the photo of Krasniqi and Zainal together in a car has become viral on social media.
“So far, we have not discussed anything with the player. I will speak to Adly about it,” said Yusoff on Saturday.
Krasniqi is one of many foreign players who have been identified by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) with potential to don national colours one day. However, he needs to play for another two seasons to qualify for a Malaysian passport.
