KUALA LUMPUR: Premier League side Perak have about 48 hours to avoid a six-point deduction for unpaid wages.
The team were earlier docked three points for failing to comply with the payment schedule.
Perak owners, Impact Media & Communication (IMC) Sdn Bhd, is said to be in discussion with a special purpose vehicle (SPV) company to finalise the club's takeover.
IMC chief executive Yunus Zakariah confirmed that JR Resources is in the final stages of the takeover.
The news augurs well for Perak, but they are still not out of the woods as far as the Malaysian Football League's First Instance Body (FIB) are concerned.
The club still have to settle their salary arrears within the stipulated deadline, which is 48 hours from today.
FIB chairman Sheikh Nasir Sheikh Shari said: "For now, we can't comment on the ownership changes. We have not received any directives from the MFL as well.
"At the moment, the focus is to ensure the team comply with the payment schedule."
Earlier this month, the FIB docked Perak three points for not meeting the March 31 deadline in settling last season's salary arrears, amounting to RM934,729.42.
