Will Nik Nazmi want to head troubled KLFA?

KUALA LUMPUR: Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has refrained from commenting on speculation linking him to the Kuala Lumpur FA (KLFA) presidency.

Nik Nazmi, who is the patron of Setiawangsa Rangers FC (SRFC), said he is committed to focusing on the community club.

When asked about the possibility of him contesting the KLFA presidency during a SRFC jersey launch event in Kuala Lumpur today. Nik Nazmi said: "I haven't given it serious thought. My priority lies with SRFC, and I'm actively involved with the team's activities.

"I attend matches regularly, and it's a pleasure to see Setiawangsa residents come out to support the team.

"Any discussions about my candidacy for KLFA should wait for another time. Any decision will be communicated accordingly."

KLFA, responsible for managing the KL City Super League team, are facing financial difficulty in paying salaries to their players. KL captain, Paulo Josue, revealed recently that he has not been paid his salaries for several months.

Nik Nazmi's name has surfaced alongside Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil as potential candidates for the KLFA presidency. Fahmi is currently the patron of KL FC City.
