JDT coach unfazed by the return of Pan Gon

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) head coach, Hector Bidoglio, is unfazed by the return of former Harimau Malaya coach, Kim Pan Gon, as his opponent.

Pan Gon will lead South Korean club, Ulsan Hyundai, in an Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) match at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium tomorrow.

"While Pan Gon knows several of our players, that doesn't necessarily give his team an edge," said Bidoglio today.

Despite Pan Gon's familiarity with JDT players, Bidoglio believes it will not offer any significant advantage to the South Korean side.

However the JDT coach acknowledged Ulsan's credentials.

Ulsan have dominated South Korean football, winning the K-League title for three consecutive years since 2022.

"Ulsan are undoubtedly a strong team, but we have prepared thoroughly for this match.

"We're focused on securing all three points and playing our best football on home turf," said Bidoglio.

"We anticipate a tough match, but playing at our fortress, we can't waste the chance to get a victory."
