KUALA LUMPUR: The Harimau Malaya project is set to receive a significant boost with the appointment of a high-performance director with World Cup credentials, according to Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
In an Instagram story on Friday, the Johor Darul Ta'zim club owner provided details about the appointment, which is aimed at elevating the national team's fitness and medical standards.
"We will appoint a high-performance director to oversee fitness and medical matters. This isn't just any doctor, but a professional with World Cup experience and proven achievements," said Tunku Mahkota Ismail.
The appointment is part of efforts to strengthen the Harimau Malaya setup ahead of international competitions.
The project will also include Australian Peter Cklamovski as the Harimau Malaya coach and Nafuzi Zain as the national Under-23 coach.
