KUALA LUMPUR: Liverpool's famous wingback Trent Alexander-Arnold praised Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT)'s Juan Muniz's free-kick goal during a Super League match gainst KL City.
Spanaird Muniz's stunning strike in the 71st minute was the Southern Tigers' fourth goal in the 5-1 victory over KL City at the KLFA Stadium on May 25.
"Ooo... see that? That's what I like about technique right there. It's hard to do that. It's quite close as well, and you have to get it open down and get a lot of pace on it as well," said Alexander-Arnold.
The Liverpool star made the comments when a local TV station asked him about the Super League's best free kick.
Alexander-Arnold chose Muniz's free kick as the best after watching videos of shortlisted free kick goals, including those from Sri Pahang's Manuel Hidalgo, Terengganu's Safawi Rasid, Perak's Luciano Guaycochea and KL City's Paulo Josue.
"The technique is very difficult to do," said Alexander-Arnold of Muniz's goal.
On the requirements for a good free kick, the Liverpool defender said: "It's about pacing on the ball, technique, and getting it as high up in the post corner as possible."
Alexander-Arnold was also impressed by Safawi and Josue's free kick goals.
"(On Safawi's freekick) Oof.., wow. Yep, that's really good.
"(On Josue's) Wow. That's nice. That's good," he said.
