Malaysia suffer 10-1 disgraceful defeat against Germany

KUALA LUMPUR: What a disgrace. The national men's hockey team were beaten so badly by Germany that they will remember it for the rest of their lives.

A 10-1 massacre. World No 12 Malaysia were completely outplayed by World No. 5 Germany in a test match at Glabach Hockey and Tennis Club in Germany on Sunday.

It was Malaysia's worst ever defeat in recent years.

Germany made mincemeat of the Speedy Tigers with goals in the 10th, 14th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 34th, 42nd, 50th, 53rd and 59th minutes.

Malaysia's Fitri Saari scored a penalty corner goal in the 47th minute but it just wasn't enough to spare coach Sarjit Singh and his men the blushes.

Perhaps, Malaysia are only good enough to play against European B teams, like against Belgium B last week, which saw Malaysia winning 3-2 twice and losing 4-2 once in three friendly matches.
