Coach I. Vickneswaran's boys are now bottom of the six-team Under-21 tournament.
In earlier matches, world No. 11 Malaysia lost 3-2 to world No. 13 New Zealand, 4-1 to No. 18 Japan and 4-2 to world No. 2 India.
Malaysia's last match will be against world No. 8 Australia on Friday.
Kaden Draysey gave Great Britain the lead off a penalty stroke in the 15th minute.
Two minutes later, Malaysia equalised through a solo reverse stick attempt by Che Nur Aqilrullah Che Khairulzi Anwar.
Great Britain, despite failing to convert nine penalty corners, finally scored the winner through Monty Neave in the 53rd minute. Malaysia failed to convert two penalty corners.
India still lead the standings with nine points despite a 4-0 loss to Australia. New Zealand have eight points after beating Japan 3-1.
